String Figures

Basketry from Africa or Asia, weaving of stems, strands and cords, thread is one driving element in the work of the studio. The String Figures serie is the outcome of our research on the lines and figures drawn by the passage and entanglement of a thread over itself, and testifies to the games of imagination existing in ancestral communities, such as the Inuit or certain tribes of American Indians.
